Kennolyn Camps is an amazing place for people of all ages. We offer you the opportunity to spend a summer changing lives, including yours! Since 1946, Kennolyn has offered campers an opportunity to spend a few weeks living as part of a special camp community. The most important ingredient for a sucessful summer is our camp staff. We seek those very special people who know how to have fun and present themselves as positive role models.
We are located on 300 acres of Redwood forest just a few minutes form Santa Cruz, California. Honestly, it is an amazing location for a summer job. When we are at camp it truly feels like we are hundreds of miles from civilization. But, when you have some precious time off, you are only minutes from the beach and the thriving coastal towns of Santa Cruz, Capitola, and Aptos. The weather is wonderful. We stay cool thanks to the coastal fog and enjoy average daytime temperatures in the high 70s/low 80s
We require that staff be 18 years of age or older and have completed one year of college. You will also need to be able to commit to work from June 12th, 2008-August 23rd, 2008.
All of our available jobs require that you work with children in their cabin living environment as well as in activities. We have over 40 different activities and we prefer that you be accomplished in at least one. However, if you have a great spirit and enthusiasm for life, we can teach you all that you need to know. Among our most popular (and therfore most staff needed) activities are:
- Ropes Course
- English Horseback Riding
- Swimming (We have a pool and need Red Cross Lifeguards and WSIs.)
- Ceramics - wheel pottery and hand building classes are offered
- Fencing
- Tennis
- Too many more to list.
